The Complexity of Science

Organisms and any other thing science related, seem to be complicated. But the fact is that this things are as simple as any other but then evolve into something complex. In Chapter 2 of The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, he explains the possible explanations why this happen. He talks about this thing called the Replicator. He explain how the existence of this came to be, he says how this one has a capacity to replicate itself. According to the author DNA is one of the most successful replicators.

“In the lifetime of a man, things that are that improbable can be treated for practical purposes as impossible” Pg. 15

In this quote Dawkins is saying how impressed they were after this finding, something that was consider so improbable, even fantasy, happened. So was thought of the replicator. He even implies that one of the things that made it so weird that this remarkable molecule appeared was it’s simplicity, how he said “It might not necessarily be the biggest or the mot complex molecule around, but it had the extraordinary property of making copies of itself” 

The quote of Charles Darwin that said the following: "From so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have bee, and are being, evolved" practically describes the chapter. He implies the fact of replicators by saying endless forms, just because they can replicate themselves as many times as they want. Also by saying From so simple..., and are being, evolved he approaches the idea of how something so simple (scientifically in the case of the replicator) can be so complex.
